Penland School of Crafts Home Page  Penland School of Crafts is a national center for craft education located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.  I have taken classes there several times.  I highly recommend it!  What can you expect from a sojourn at Penland? You can expect to work hard, learn a lot, make friends, and forget about the rest of the world in an isolated setting without the distraction of phones, television, or daily newspapers. F. Douglass Schatz  Doug is a very close friend of mine.  He is a teacher at SUNY Potsdam.  I had the pleasure of being cast in bronze by him.  He is one of the best.  He does event sculpture, bronze sculpture, snow sculpture, and cage sculpture.
